Account deletion

Delete your Nubia account

You can do it in the app in about a minute, or email us if you can’t open the app anymore. Here’s how both work, and exactly what goes.

Nubia: Skincare Companion, by Emine Kuzhan

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Profile by tapping your photo in the header.
  2. Tap Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm.
  4. Confirm it’s you with your sign-in: Apple, Google, your password or a code we email you.

Deletion starts right away. You’ll get a receipt in the app, and you can check its status there anytime.

No app? Email us

Lost your phone or already deleted the app? Email privacy@heynubia.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Nubia account”.

Signed up with Apple’s Hide My Email? Write from any address and include your relay address, the one ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com, so we can find your account.

Before we delete anything, we’ll check the request really comes from you. We’ll never ask for your password or an ID document. You’ll hear back within one month at the latest, and usually much sooner.

What we delete

Everything that’s yours in Nubia:

  • Your account and sign-in
  • Your profile and skin answers
  • Your routines and history
  • Your Shelf
  • Your check-ins
  • Your skin journal, which only lives on your phone and is cleared there when you delete in the app
  • Your friends, and everything you shared with them
  • Reminders and notification settings
  • UV and location settings
  • Analytics linked to you
  • Your records at OneSignal, which sends our notifications, and RevenueCat, which handles subscriptions

What stays, and why

A few small records stay. None of them hold your profile, your skin answers or anything you wrote.

  • A deletion record with a one-way code instead of your email or profile, so an old phone that’s still signed in can’t bring your account or its analytics back.
  • A short note that the deletion happened, with no content in it, kept for 3 years as proof we did it.
  • A pseudonymous count of the free photo scans used on your phone, so a new account doesn’t restart the free limit.
  • Apple keeps its own records of your purchases.
  • Our daily backups roll off within 14 days, and point-in-time copies within 7 days. Until then they stay locked away, and the deletion is applied again before any copy is ever used.
  • Google can take up to 180 days to clear your sign-in data from its own backups.

Our Privacy Policy has the full details.

Your subscription

Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel it too or it keeps renewing. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Nubia.

How to cancel, on Apple’s site

Only want some of it gone?

You can ask us to delete specific data instead of your whole account, like your check-ins or your location. Email privacy@heynubia.com and tell us what you’d like removed.

Data on your phone

Deleting in the app also clears Nubia’s data from that phone. On any other phone or iPad, sign out of Nubia or delete the app.

Copies you exported or shared yourself, and your phone’s own backups, live outside Nubia, so remove those where you keep them. Your Apple Health data stays in Apple Health.
